We’re immensely proud to be an independent veterinary practice on the Isle of Wight. We take pride in providing a personal, caring service in a relaxed and friendly environment. We strive to provide the highest possible care and offer everything from routine to urgent veterinary care and provide our own out of hours emergency service.
Our staff are always available to help and provide advice. We believe that seeing the same vet, nurse and receptionists allows us to develop a better relationship with our clients and patients, allowing us to provide a higher standard of care for healthier, happier pets.
Pete has many years experience working in the veterinary field. He has worked with all kinds of animals across the world, from small animals in South Africa to horses in Mongolia. He has worked on horse safaris in Botswana to mixed practices in Scotland. His adventures have led him to the Isle of Wight where he became aware of a dire need for additional veterinary care, prompting the opening of The People's Vet.
Paul managed The Mobile Vet for several years before moving down to the west country to take up a new role at a veterinary hospital in Tavistock. A change in family circumstances prompted a return to the Island. Luckily he'd kept in touch with Pete and when the vacancy arose, he was eager to help Pete and the team grow the practice. When not at work, Paul enjoys kayaking around the Island, gardening, baking and steam railways!

Nursing Assistant
Carly enjoys working alongside the nursing team and is often "buzzing" about organising everything and cleaning. She enjoys riding her pony and walking her dogs when not here.

Coming from America, Chandler is currently working towards converting her American nurse qualifications to register with the RCVS.
She has over 6 years experience and is passionate about animal care - giving a voice to the voiceless!
In her free time, she enjoys watching football, browsing charity shops and taking her German Shepherd Ruby to the beach.
Student Nurse
Emma grew up surrounded by horses and dogs and is new to the veterinary world and is very keen to learn.
Emma chose the veterinary industry, being interested in all types of procedures as well as learning how to become a better dog owner. She previously ran her own dog walking business.
Outside work, Emma enjoys being out in the countryside with all 3 of her four-legged pals finding different tracks.
Receptionist
Louise joined us in May 2024 to complete our lovely reception team. She is always happy to help with any queries and has many roles within the practice, including reception, assisting the vets in consultation and supporting the practice manager. Louise previously owned a horse and cat, but is now only left with Rupert her Tortoise, which she's had for 45 years!
Receptionist
Sharon has made a fantastic addition to our reception team. She has worked in the veterinary industry for 17 years and her knowledge and experiences are invaluable to us. She is also our pet insurance guru!
Receptionist
Ros has many years of experience in the veterinary industry. She brings a wealth of knowledge with her to the team and is always willing to go above and beyond for our clients.
Receptionist
Emma brings a wealth of reception and customer service experience to our reception team. When not at work, she loves walking her springer spaniels, gardening, reading, swimming and cooking.
Receptionist
Animals are my passion, so I love working here. I take pride in helping both pets and owners. In my spare time, I'm learning to become a canine behaviourist.
