For Healthier Happier Pets

Our Services

We take pride in providing a personal, caring service in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We strive to provide the highest possible care and offer everything from routine to urgent veterinary care.

Our staff are always available to help and provide advice.  We believe that seeing the same vet, nurse and receptionists allows us to develop a better relationship with our clients and patients, allowing us to provide a higher standard of care for healthier, happier pets..

We've the latest diagnostic tests including digital X-ray, ultrasound  and an in-house laboratory and provide our own out of hours emergency care.

We can offer home visits to cater for client and patient needs  (* subject to availability).

Routine Veterinary Care
We cover all your every day needs including annual vaccinations, microchipping, claw clips, neutering, parasite control and more...

Surgical Procedures
We know surgery can be stressful for both pets and owners, but rest easy our vets, nurses and support team go above and beyond to ensure your pet is safe and comfortable throughout surgery.

Home Visits

If you are unable to bring your pet to see us at the practice, please give us a call.  We may be able to pick up your pet from home and bring it into our surgery.  Otherwise, we can give you the contact details of some pet-friendly taxis.

Our vet may be able to  do a home visit, either on Tuesday or Thursday evenings.  (NB. We cannot guarantee a day/time and visits are strictly subject to availability)

In-house Laboratory Testing

Unfortunately, pets can't tell us where it hurts and often a pet can be masking symptoms of their illness.  We first examine your pet and may then recommend blood, urine and/or faecal tests to check their kidney, liver and internal organ functions.  Many of these we can do in-house whilst other more intensive tests are sent away for analysis.

X-Ray & Ultrasound

We've invested in the latest digital X-Ray system to identify many types of illness or injury when your pet is sick or suffered a trauma.  X-rays can detect many ailments including fractures and are very helpful identifying foreign objects that may have been swallowed.  We can send X-ray images to specialist radiologists for expert interpretation with results in one hour if needed!

Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive method of imaging your pet's internal organs to check whether they are functioning normally.

For many pet owners the cost of living crisis, expensive pet insurance and rocketing veterinary prices, have made accessing care impossible.

We do work with the island charity Friends of the Animals who may be able to help with a contribution towards the cost of veterinary care.  So, if you are genuinely struggling to make ends meet, please give them a call on 01983 522511 (Tuesday to Saturday from 10am) to see if they can help.

Likewise, Cats Protection may be able to help with the cost of neutering and microchipping your cat.

Nikki Hazelgrove has been rescuing cats since 1980 and officially formed Feline Welfare in 1987 as a rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming centre for domestic and feral cats and kittens on the Isle of Wight.  In 2000, Feline Welfare became a registered charity and is totally run by volunteers and solely relies on donations.

For over 30 years, they have offered assistance with neutering and microchipping for low income families.  They have also assisted with veterinary bills where the owner is unable to have their pet treated without financial help.  As well as rehoming, they also provide foster homes for many cats.

Nikki is always available to give advice on neutering, microchipping, rehoming, adoption, fostering and more, just give her a call on: 01983 521778  We are proud to be working with her.
